Zeee house

A mid-century beauty! Built in 1845, this handsome townhouse retains classic architectural detail--dark marble mantels, crown molding, pocket shutters, ceiling medallions & more! Elegant columns (added early 20th century) divide double parlor. Used as lawyers' office, mechanical systems have been updated & property is well maintained. Lots of *parking*. Possible tax credits.

Hello gorgeous!

Good Ole Days

I know i'm not too much of a bargain
And you know that's not what you bargained for
As the hours turn into days
Pretty soon lost in the haze
It's up to you and me
And who's to say
These could be the good old days

I like waking up after a bad dream
Makes it feel like life ain't bad
Little kids go out to play
They're just happy it's another day

I guess i could be a quiet hero
No one knows the good i've done
You're not sure
Well that's okay
'cause i am
And i'm not afraid
It's up to you and me
And who's to say
These could be the good old days

SWP is back!

Turn Towards Home

A simple mirrored glare, a guise;
There isn't a shoulder turned
Towards ice that melts
On faces that take away
All that I have kept secret.

Stern chins make the grass grow.
With the motor of nature
Turned towards the sun we make
Our beds in slithering ravines
Forever slipping down to the places
Mother told us not to play.

When the sun turns
Towards the sunflower
It takes a leap of grain-size
A step of solar
And moves our lives like
Watch hands turn.

If the machine of graze
Were to launch it's cancer on me,
I would turn towards your face
And have the pasture etched
With the ebb of you hair
Replacing what God told me was beauty

Between the shepherd and the butcher
How many heads have laid?
With a cupped rigid hand,
A chin grabbed, and then
Turned towards the window
A family takes its supper
With the trust of the day

When there were books in my palm,
Like weighted worlds of waiting,
I was happiest in my turn.
I was blessed with the moon toward my face
And my back to the seas
As if someone had saved the slightest
Verse just for me.

alexander pope quotes

Wit is the lowest form of humor.

What some call health, if purchased by perpetual anxiety about diet, isn't much better than tedious disease.

No one should be ashamed to admit they are wrong, which is but saying, in other words, that they are wiser today than they were yesterday.

On life's vast ocean diversely we sail, Reason the card, but passion is the gale.

Bottle of Wine
The meaning of it
is nothing compared to you
and I.
But the symbolic gesture
of something
so stunning,
can only be held
in the character of you.
Drink it with me.
Drink our love
With me.

August 22nd Poem for a Birthday Boy

Dance, Dance Christa Päffgen
When the ship's bow broke the second cook claimed "rough".

He's got this big wind turbine
Blowing him straight on the board and off the grid
"Play chess with him."
"You'll love that he knows how to know."

A Chelsea girl once turned 50
Some kindred German Warhol freak
Some tie.
Energy binds us in some way.
And you lived for a day with me.

"Your body is electricity. Can you believe that?"
"I can actually. "

A half-hearted attempt to reunite old comrades
A trying time for footwear
A blood giver
Once in a blue moon you can call together
generosity with honesty and get away with all of it.

Angels.
Astronauts.
Copy writers.
Time travelers.
Crosses and stars.
Hammers and stripes.
Crests and hearts.
Time and layers.
Eyes and minds.
Your heart.
Love.

I love you all.
I always have.
I always will.
We are all energy passing through.
We always have been.
Happy birthday to everyone who loves.

David Simon and Ed Burns

In the last decade, I can honestly say that there are no other people that have superceded to write the truth and put it on a video medium more than Simon and Burns.

Their past project, The Wire, speaks for itself.

But if you go back to Homicide, The Corner, and now with their new mini-series on HBO "Generation Kill", I am once again blown away. Their sincerity, honesty, passion, and ability to tell a story that is both hilarious but also pure drama is unmatched.

I hope they keep going for another decade.

When I think about the defining moments of my 20's art portoflio they are ultimately linked to that definition.

A video overview of the series is below - but if you haven't seen Generation Kill ... do yourself a favor and spend a day with the 7 part mini-series describing our insertion into the first days of the Iraq war by an elite Marine Recon unit.

You can also buy the book that the series is based on here. And get some background here.

The evolution of funny cartoon shit...

The Simpson -> Ren and Stimpy -> South Park -> Family Guy -> ATHF -> South Park (the smarter years) -> GYWO!

Get your war on may be the single most funny thing I have ever seen in my life. I remember reading them 5 years ago - I remember peeing myself then... but the quality of these interactions is superb. Bravo!

August Songs

August's Songs are muddy.
They drink syrup out of bowls
and the heat that makes up
their deep drama always
seems to make me sweat
just a little too much.
